Teenager in Wilson School District
A Berks County teenager has admitted to being behind a social media threat against several high schools in Reading and the surrounding suburbs. The 16-year-old girl, a student in the Wilson School District, pleaded guilty in juvenile court Thursday to charges of terroristic threats and criminal use of a communication facility. Both are third degree felonies, according to prosecutors. The girl has been ordered to spend 45 days in a diagnostic treatment program at a facility in Westmoreland County.

Spring Township Investigations
The girl was arrested last Thursday at her home in Spring Township after investigators determined she posted threatening clown messages on social media. The Instagram post, authorities said, threatened violence at Wilson, Governor Mifflin, Reading and Twin Valley high schools on October 4. The girl’s motive, according to detectives, was that she did not want to go to school and thought that, by posting the messages, classes would be canceled.
